This began after reading 's latest journal entry. Lately I've been thinking alot about DA. The Snobbery, the art hierachy, etc....

For the last couple months I have been really tempted to clean out my watch list. I currently watch a total of 51 people while only 29 watch me. does that seem right to you. Now I understand alot of these people are more popular artists who are watched by tons of people and there isn't enough time in the day to reply to everything. But I think that at the least you should thank someone who watchs you. a few of the popular people do this such as bleedman and jazz-chan. Most others however do not.

One half of me would like to delete all popular people from my watch list but on the other hand, their works inspire me and nag at me to become a better artist myself.... do I want to give that up in order to take a stand?

DA is such a huge place you can't focus on getting noticed. You can't focus of getting a DD and having an over flowing message center. Besides if you were to get popular and have ridiculous numbers of comments you could never answer them all and then wouldn't you feel like just another DA snob? I think we have to establish our own 'cliques' so to speak within DA. Just a group of artists who want to support each other. No matter what their skill levels or subject matter. It shouldn't be about being popular it should be about find a peer group and supporting each other! Surpirse gift art and hours of useless chit chat! Striving towards constructive critism and an all around cool group of artists. Art trades and inside jokes galore!!!!!

So I'm asking you, my watchers and friends to join me in creating my own circle of DA friends! We'll create a list of kids. We'll all watch each other and help each other and support one another and thus create our own world inside DA!

And soon all the 'cool kids' we'll be begging to join us!
